UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Welcomes Winners Of Poetry Competitions

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan recently met with the winners of the 11th season of the Prince of Poets and Million’s Poet competitions, along with those from the fourth season of the Al-Mankous programme. The gathering took place at Qasr Al-Bahr in Abu Dhabi, where His Highness engaged in discussions about the significance of these competitions in preserving cultural heritage.

His Highness emphasised that these literary events play a crucial role in connecting younger generations with the region's rich cultural and folkloric traditions. By highlighting poetic talent, these initiatives help reinforce national identity and promote authentic Emirati values. They also provide platforms for poets to engage with audiences and encourage scholarly exploration of literary forms.

The meeting was attended by several notable figures, including H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region. Other attendees included H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior.

His Highness congratulated the winners for their achievements and noted that such heritage-focused initiatives contribute significantly to the UAE's cultural landscape as well as to that of the broader Arab world. These competitions not only spotlight poetic talent but also foster interaction between poets and audiences while encouraging critical studies.

Also present were H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; H.H. Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination; and H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs.

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, attended alongside other Sheikhs, senior officials, citizens, and guests. This gathering underscored the importance placed on cultural preservation through literary pursuits within the UAE.
