UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Leads Celebrations For 53rd Eid Al Etihad With Dignitaries
President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, along with Sheikhs and state guests, participated in the March of the Union. This event was organised by the Presidential Court to mark the UAE’s 53rd Eid Al Etihad. The celebration, part of the Sheikh Zayed Festival 2024, saw participation from UAE tribes nationwide.
The march took place in Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi. It was attended by notable dignitaries such as His Excellency Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of Mauritania; His Excellency Dr Lazarus Chakwera, President of Malawi; and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain.
Among other distinguished guests were His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister; H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; and H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region.
Also present were H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi; H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah; and several other sheikhs and senior officials from across the UAE.
The tribes began their procession from Al Hosn Gate. They carried the UAE flag while singing traditional folk songs. These cultural expressions showcased their pride in national unity and their bond with the UAE leadership.
The celebrations included performances such as the UAE national anthem, a welcome song, and traditional displays like Al Azi, Al Ayyala, and Al Nadba. Equestrian and camel displays were also featured alongside a Mauritanian-themed performance titled Brotherly Spirit.
Aerial Salute to Honour Guests
The event concluded with an aerial salute by the UAE Air Force and Air Defence. This honoured His Highness the President and esteemed guests attending the celebration.
His Highness exchanged greetings with participants during the event. He expressed his pleasure at witnessing such a genuine display of national unity. He praised Emiratis for their deep love and loyalty to their country.
"The UAE will remain strong through the commitment of its people to upholding its flag," stated His Highness. This sentiment highlighted the dedication of Emiratis to their nation’s strength and unity.
