UAE President's Representative Sheikh Shakhboot Bin Nahyan Attends African Union Mid-Year Coordination Meeting
Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, representing President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, attended the African Union Mid-Year Coordination Meeting in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea. During this event, he emphasised the UAE's dedication to enhancing its strategic alliance with African countries.
He outlined significant initiatives across key sectors such as health, renewable energy, infrastructure, education, development, and food security. These efforts highlight the UAE's ongoing commitment to collaborate with African Union member states on shared interests like climate action and digital innovation.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan and Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the African Union Commission. This agreement focuses on a strategic health partnership in Africa involving the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the African Union.
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of heads of state attending the meeting. Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan remarked, "This MoU reflects our shared aspirations to achieve a tangible and sustainable impact in African communities - aspirations that serve as a foundation for long-term cooperation in the healthcare sector."
