UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Reviews Latest Innovations At Dubai Airshow 2025
President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan recently attended the 19th Dubai Airshow at Dubai World Central. The event, themed ‘The Future is Here’, continues until 21st November. During his visit, Sheikh Mohamed explored the latest advancements in aviation, aerospace, and defence presented by both national and international companies.
Upon arrival, Sheikh Mohamed was welcomed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, along with H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. They exchanged greetings and engaged in friendly discussions.
The UAE President engaged with company representatives who briefed him on their contributions to the exhibition. Discussions included next-generation civil and military aircraft and integrated air defence systems. This interaction highlighted the innovative technologies showcased at the event.
Sheikh Mohamed also attended the unveiling of the Badr-250 (B-250), a multi-role aircraft developed by Calidus Group, a UAE-based defence manufacturer. The B-250 is notable for being entirely designed and produced by Emirati professionals.
Highlighting the significance of the airshow, Sheikh Mohamed stated it serves as a key global platform for fostering international partnerships in aviation, aerospace, and defence sectors. He emphasised its role in enhancing UAE’s reputation as a hub for major global gatherings focused on innovation.
During his tour, Sheikh Mohamed visited Tawazun Council’s stand where he learned about their latest initiatives aimed at strengthening a future-ready defence industry ecosystem. He praised the progress made by the national defence industry and acknowledged Emirati talent's role in driving innovation.
Engagements with Global Leaders
On the sidelines of the event, Sheikh Mohamed met Wei Yingbiao from Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC). Their discussion underscored the airshow's importance as a venue for showcasing cutting-edge innovations from leading companies worldwide.
Accompanying Sheikh Mohamed were H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President; and several senior officials.
The Dubai Airshow continues to be a premier event that not only showcases technological advancements but also strengthens international cooperation across various sectors. It underscores UAE’s commitment to being at the forefront of innovation and development globally.
