UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Receives Professor Humaid Al Shamsi For His Academic Achievements
UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan recently met with Professor Humaid bin Harmal Al Shamsi at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi. Professor Al Shamsi, who leads the Emirates Oncology Society and the Burjeel Cancer Institute, was recognised for his academic achievements. He has been appointed as a Visiting Professor at Harvard Medical School and a Visiting Scientist at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in the United States.
Professor Al Shamsi expressed gratitude to His Highness for the unwavering support provided to national talents, especially in scientific research. This encouragement motivates individuals to pursue their goals and achieve top academic honours to benefit their country. The meeting underscored the UAE's commitment to nurturing exceptional talent across various fields.
During the meeting, His Highness congratulated Professor Al Shamsi on his accomplishments and wished him continued success in his scientific endeavours. His Highness emphasised that empowering outstanding national talents is a key priority for the UAE. This focus aligns with the nation's vision of fostering sustainable progress and development.
The gathering was attended by several prominent figures, including H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region. Other attendees included H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior.
The event also saw participation from H.H. Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed Authority for People of Determination; H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs; and H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President, along with other Sheikhs, ministers, senior officials, citizens, and guests were also present at this significant occasion. The presence of these dignitaries highlighted the importance placed on recognising and supporting national achievements in academia.
