UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan recently engaged in a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. They discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation within their strategic partnership. Both leaders expressed their commitment to strengthening ties across various sectors, aiming to benefit their respective populations.
During the call, President Putin acknowledged the UAE's successful mediation in facilitating prisoner exchanges between Russia and Ukraine. The most recent exchange occurred earlier this March. His Highness thanked Russia for its cooperation, emphasising the UAE's dedication to humanitarian efforts and peaceful conflict resolution.

The UAE has played a crucial role in mediating prisoner exchanges between Russia and Ukraine. On 19 March, they announced a successful exchange involving 175 prisoners from each side, totalling 350 individuals. This effort is part of 13 mediation initiatives by the UAE, resulting in the exchange of 3,233 prisoners overall.
His Highness reiterated the UAE's commitment to supporting global peace and stability during discussions on regional and international issues. The UAE consistently promotes peaceful solutions to conflicts, aligning with its approach to fostering global harmony.
