UAE President Directs 50% Salary Increase For Mosque Staff
In a significant move aimed at supporting mosque staff across the United Arab Emirates, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has announced the provision of a monthly financial allowance for all mosque employees, including imams and muezzins. This allowance, set at 50 percent of the basic salary, comes under the directives of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments (GAIAE). This initiative underscores the leadership's commitment to enhancing the welfare of those who play a pivotal role in maintaining the spiritual and religious fabric of the community.
Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of GAIAE, highlighted that this financial boost is a direct result of the follow-up and support from His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court. The allowance will be seamlessly integrated into the mosque staff's monthly salary, ensuring immediate benefit.

The gesture is not just a financial one but also an acknowledgment of the dedication and hard work of imams and muezzins. These individuals are instrumental in creating an environment conducive to worship and serenity, adhering to the highest standards of quality in their service. Dr. Al Darei expressed his gratitude towards President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan for their continuous support and concern for mosque workers. Their backing significantly bolsters GAIAE's efforts in fulfilling its religious and communal responsibilities.
This initiative is reflective of the UAE leadership's broader vision to ensure the well-being and satisfaction of all individuals serving the community, particularly those involved in spiritual guidance and religious services. By recognizing and appreciating the critical role played by mosque staff, this move further strengthens the social fabric of the UAE, fostering a sense of unity and respect among its residents.
