UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Awards Tanzania's Samia Suluhu Hassan With Mother Of The Nation Order
President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan honoured H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of Tanzania, with the 'Mother of the Nation Order'. This accolade recognises her significant contributions to sustainable prosperity and social cohesion. The award was presented by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan during a meeting in Tanzania, marking the start of his official visit to the country.
The meeting also included Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, Tanzanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation. During this gathering, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah conveyed greetings from President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to President Hassan, wishing her nation continued progress and prosperity. In response, President Hassan sent her regards to the UAE President, expressing hopes for ongoing advancement in the UAE.
The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between the UAE and Tanzania across various sectors such as economic, trade, investment, and development. Both sides expressed interest in expanding these ties to benefit their mutual interests. H.H. Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the UAE's commitment to fostering partnerships that promote sustainable development and improve the well-being of both nations' citizens.
Following their discussions, several agreements were signed to bolster bilateral cooperation. A mutual administrative cooperation agreement on customs matters was signed by Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan and Mwigulu L. Nchemba, Tanzanian Minister of Finance. This agreement aims to facilitate smoother customs operations between the two countries.
An MoU on investment cooperation in the mining sector was also signed during the visit. This agreement involved Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan and Anthony Peter Mavunde, Tanzanian Minister of Minerals. The MoU is expected to enhance collaboration in mining activities between the two nations.
Additionally, an MoU was signed between the UAE Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Tanzanian Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture. This agreement focuses on establishing a bilateral Business Council aimed at strengthening trade relations. Saeed Mubarak Al Hajri and Vincent Minja represented their respective organisations in signing this MoU.
The meeting was attended by several notable figures including Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, and Khalifa Abdulrahman Al Marzouqi from the UAE delegation. Their presence underscored the importance of these agreements in enhancing UAE-Tanzania relations.
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah expressed his pride in visiting Tanzania and meeting President Dr Samia Hassan. He emphasised that these new agreements reflect a shared vision for future collaboration that supports sustainable growth for both countries.
