UAE Pavilion Opens At Expo 2025 Osaka Showcasing Heritage And Innovation
The United Arab Emirates has unveiled its national pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka, showcasing a blend of heritage, innovation, and global collaboration. The inauguration was attended by Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Noura Al Kaabi, and Shihab Al Faheem, along with dignitaries from the UAE, Japan, and other countries.
Drawing inspiration from the UAE's iconic date palm tree, the pavilion reimagines traditional Emirati architecture by combining agricultural date palm waste with Japanese woodworking techniques. The pavilion features 90 rachis columns reaching up to 16 metres high. Designed by the Earth to Ether Design Collective, this structure exemplifies global collaboration between Emirati and Japanese creatives.
Inside the pavilion, visitors embark on a multi-sensory journey that highlights the UAE’s advancements in space exploration, healthcare innovation, and sustainability efforts. Through immersive multimedia displays and art installations, guests experience how the UAE is turning ambition into progress. Dr. Sultan Al Jaber remarked on the UAE's commitment to expanding energy access and investing in clean technologies.
Noura Al Kaabi emphasised the significance of participating in Expo 2025 Osaka as a continuation of the UAE's engagement with global platforms for dialogue and collaboration. She noted that returning to Osaka holds special meaning since Abu Dhabi first participated in a World Expo there in 1970. The pavilion reflects both the UAE’s heritage and its future aspirations.
Shihab Al Faheem described the pavilion as more than just an exhibition; it serves as a platform for meaningful exchange and enduring partnerships. He highlighted the deep-rooted relationship between the UAE and Japan, which spans over five decades and continues to grow through shared ambitions.
The UAE Pavilion also celebrates bilateral friendship with Japan through multisensory experiences and collaborative programming. This strategic partnership encompasses cooperation across various sectors such as energy, trade, education, culture, space exploration, and technology.

Central to the pavilion are Emirati Youth Ambassadors who bring its story to life on a global stage. Of the 46 Youth Ambassadors at Expo 2025 Osaka, 24 are Emirati. They guide visitors through innovations while embodying values of openness and partnership that define their nation.
