UAE Pavilion To Showcase Innovation At Expo 2025 Osaka In Japan
The UAE Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka in Japan will open in April 2025 with the theme "Designing Future Society for Our Lives." The announcement was made during a groundbreaking ceremony on Yumeshima Island, attended by Shihab Al Faheem, UAE Ambassador to Japan, and other dignitaries. This event marked the start of construction and the official handover of the plot.
Expo 2025 Osaka will address critical global issues through its sub-themes: "Saving Lives," "Empowering Lives," and "Connecting Lives." These themes focus on protecting lives, enriching individuals' potential, and building communities. The UAE Pavilion will align with the "Empowering Lives" sub-theme by showcasing stories of innovation in healthcare, space exploration, and sustainable technologies.
Noura Al Kaabi, UAE Minister of State, expressed pride in participating in Expo 2025 Osaka. She stated, "We are honoured to mark this occasion at the remarkable Expo 2025 Osaka in Japan, where nations will come together to share the latest technologies, foster innovative ideas, and collaborate on solutions to address the global challenges facing humanity." She added that this World Expo is crucial for both nations as they work towards a sustainable future.
Shihab Al Faheem highlighted the long-standing relationship between the UAE and Japan. He remarked, "We are thrilled about the UAE's participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, which underscores the enduring and prosperous relationship between the UAE and Japan. For over 52 years, our diplomatic relations have fostered significant industrial, cultural, and economic exchange and growth. The UAE is honoured to participate in the next World Expo in Osaka, carrying forward the spirit of global collaboration by previously hosting the world at Expo 2020 Dubai."
The pavilion will be located near the Japan Pavilion in the 'Empowering Lives' zone. It will be a Type A self-built structure, making it one of the largest country pavilions at Expo 2025 Osaka. This strategic location aims to facilitate collaboration between both nations.
Interactive Experiences for All Ages
The UAE Pavilion will offer diverse programming for visitors of all ages. Interactive exhibits and workshops will engage children to adults. The pavilion aims to inspire meaningful exchanges among diplomats, innovators, researchers, academics, business leaders, thought leaders, and students.
During the ceremony, Shihab Al Faheem emphasized that their participation reflects a commitment to global collaboration. He said their relationship with Japan began even before forming a unified country in 1971. He thanked the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition and BIE for this opportunity.
