UAE PASS Application Receives Gold Award At IESE Public Sector Transformation Awards 2025

The UAE PASS application has achieved a significant milestone by winning the Gold Award in the International General Authority category at the Sixteenth Edition of the Public Sector Transformation Awards (IESE) 2025. This annual event, organised by the British non-profit IESE Foundation, celebrates innovation and best practices in government sectors globally.

The awards aim to leverage global expertise and encourage experience sharing, highlighting achievements that inspire development through innovative thinking. This year, 140 distinguished government initiatives from around the world were evaluated. The UAE PASS application was developed by Digital Dubai in collaboration with TDRA and other key partners.

UAE PASS Wins Gold at IESE Awards 2025

Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of Digital Dubai, expressed pride in the global recognition received by UAE PASS. He stated, "We are proud that the UAE PASS application is receiving such global recognition as a successful model that can be emulated by other countries and governments." He highlighted the collaboration among local and federal entities as crucial to this achievement.

Eng. Majid Sultan Al Mesmar, Director General of TDRA, also commented on this success. "We are pleased that the UAE PASS application has achieved global recognition, winning the Gold Award among dozens of initiatives from around the world," he said. He emphasised that it represents a tangible outcome of the UAE's digital transformation journey.

The UAE PASS is a secure national digital identity for citizens, residents, and visitors in the UAE. It allows users to register and verify their identity quickly using facial recognition technology. This aligns with the vision of building an integrated digital life and supporting the digital economy through advanced technologies like artificial intelligence.

The number of entities offering services through UAE PASS has exceeded 340. These include 60 federal entities, 171 local government entities, and 118 private sector organisations, collectively providing over 15,000 services.

Award Ceremony Highlights

The awards ceremony took place on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, in London. Representatives from various government entities and project leaders attended this event. The Gold Award for UAE PASS was received by representatives from Digital Dubai and TDRA.

Al Mansoori further noted that this award is a culmination of efforts towards excellence in digital identity. He acknowledged strategic partners like TDRA and others who have contributed significantly to this success through a clear strategic plan.

Al Mesmar reiterated commitment to sustaining progress in line with 'We Are the UAE 2031' vision. He extended appreciation to partners like Digital Dubai for their role in achieving integration and excellence aimed at customer happiness.
