UAE Engages In First ACD Ministerial Meeting On Sports To Foster Regional Cooperation

The United Arab Emirates took part in the inaugural Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Ministerial Meeting on Sports. This event, themed "From Traditions to Innovations: The Future of Sports in the ACD Countries," coincided with the 13th International Sports Forum, "Russia – Country of Sports," held in Samara, Russian Federation. Ghanim Mubarak Al Hajeri, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Sports, represented the UAE.

Al Hajeri highlighted the UAE's dedication to fostering international cooperation, especially in sports. He stated, "Sports have become a universal language that can build bridges of cooperation among nations, and foster friendship, understanding, and human connection between the peoples of Asia and the world." His remarks underscored the importance of sports as a tool for global unity and collaboration.

During discussions, Al Hajeri noted how technological progress is reshaping sports. He said that innovation is crucial for enhancing athletic performance and governance. He emphasised investing in technologies like artificial intelligence and big data analytics to achieve excellence and develop future champions. This focus aligns with global trends where technology plays a pivotal role in sports evolution.

The meeting brought together ministers and officials from member states alongside representatives from regional and international sports organisations. It aimed to strengthen cooperation among Asian nations by exploring partnership frameworks and sharing expertise in sports.
