UAE's Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar Leads Delegation At 11th GCC Labour Ministers' Meeting In Kuwait
Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, the UAE's Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, attended the 11th GCC Labour Ministers' Committee meeting in Kuwait City. The gathering included Labour and Human Resources Ministers from GCC nations and Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi, the Gulf Cooperation Council's Secretary-General. The event concluded on September 4th.
During the meeting, Dr. Al Awar highlighted the UAE's global leadership in creating a supportive work environment. He noted that over 152,000 Emiratis are now employed in the private sector. This sector experienced a 17% increase in companies last year and ranked first globally for workforce growth, with a 12% rise overall and a 13% increase in skilled workers.

The Minister emphasised the importance of GCC collaboration in labour market affairs. He stressed that effective communication is vital for sustaining leadership and developing best practices. These efforts aim to ensure the well-being of GCC citizens and residents while supporting ongoing growth.
Dr. Al Awar also underscored the significance of initiatives like the Abu Dhabi Dialogue. This initiative facilitates labour mobility from sending countries to GCC nations, attracting skilled workers and supporting pioneering UAE projects in the labour market.
The UAE remains committed to participating in initiatives that strengthen joint GCC efforts. The goal is to unify responses to shared challenges amid rapid global changes. Dr. Al Awar stressed the importance of exchanging expertise and aligning labour policies among GCC states to enhance efficiency, competitiveness, and productivity.
A comprehensive framework has been implemented by the UAE to protect its workers, significantly boosting the labour market's appeal. This framework enhances employees’ skills and supports job creation in sectors like digital transformation and artificial intelligence.
Recognition of Excellence
An awards ceremony was held alongside the meeting to honour leading companies in Emiratisation and outstanding small businesses across GCC countries. Al Masaood Energy and Epic Temporary Employment Service L.L.C were recognised for their excellence in Emiratisation within the UAE, while Oceanic Company was named as the best small business.
Dr. Al Awar congratulated these winners, praising their contributions to enhancing Emiratisation policies and fostering an entrepreneurial environment. He stated that these achievements reflect the economic and social progress seen in the UAE.
On the sidelines of this event, Dr. Al Awar met with Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah, Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, along with other participating ministers including Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi.
