UAE Delegation Advocates For Palestinian Support At International PUIC Conference

In a significant diplomatic engagement, a delegation from the Federal National Council (FNC) of the United Arab Emirates participated in the 12th meeting of the Palestine Committee. This meeting was a part of the 18th session of the Parliamentary Union of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States (PUIC) Conference, held in Abidjan, Republic of Côte d’Ivoire. The UAE delegation was led by Dr. Adnan Hamad Al Hammadi, Chair of the Group, and Walid Ali Al Mansouri, Deputy Chair.

During this pivotal gathering, Walid Al Mansouri delivered a speech on behalf of the UAE Parliamentary Division, emphasizing the UAE's steadfast support and solidarity with the Palestinian people during their challenging times. He underscored the critical need for relief and humanitarian assistance for the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip. Al Mansouri highlighted the UAE's proactive efforts towards advocating for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. He detailed how the UAE, leveraging its non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council, has been actively pushing for the adoption of United Nations resolutions to facilitate a ceasefire and ensure the safe and sustainable delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Furthermore, Al Mansouri shed light on the UAE's broader role in international forums and diplomatic engagements aimed at fostering a peaceful resolution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. He reiterated the UAE's commitment to a two-state solution, emphasizing the importance of halting escalation and protecting civilian lives.

The meeting concluded with the Committee's approval of draft resolutions concerning the Palestinian issue. These resolutions are set to be presented to the Political Committee of the Union for further deliberation.

This participation underscores the UAE's active involvement in international diplomacy and its dedication to contributing constructively to resolving longstanding regional conflicts.
