UAE Parliamentary Division Participates In The 4th Eurasian Women's Forum To Promote Global Cooperation

The Federal National Council (FNC) Parliamentary Division participated in the 4th Eurasian Women's Forum in Saint Petersburg, Russia. This two-day event, themed "Women for Strengthening Trust and Global Cooperation," serves as a major international platform for dialogue among women leaders worldwide.

Maryam bin Theneya, the Second Deputy Speaker of the FNC and head of the UAE delegation, addressed the plenary session titled "Women for Building Trust and Global Cooperation." She highlighted the UAE's significant progress in empowering women, especially in diplomacy. Bin Theneya noted that Emirati women have excelled as ambassadors and diplomats, including roles like the UAE's Permanent Representative to the United Nations.

Other members of the FNC Parliamentary Division took part in various thematic sessions. These sessions included topics such as Women for a Clean Planet and Food Security; Women’s Influence on Economic Development in New Realities; and Working Together for a Healthy Society. These discussions aimed to foster collaboration without borders.

The Eurasian Women’s Forum was organised by the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation along with the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS). Held from 18th to 20th September 2024, it is an influential platform where women leaders engage in dialogue to make joint decisions on international cooperation, sustainable economic development, new technologies, healthy lifestyles, environmental safety, and social charitable projects.

Bin Theneya also participated in a thematic session titled "Dialogue of Women Russia - Arab World." This session focused on fostering understanding and cooperation between Russian and Arab women leaders.

The forum provided an opportunity for women leaders to discuss key issues affecting global cooperation. It emphasised sustainable economic growth, technology assimilation, health promotion, environmental protection, and social initiatives. The event encouraged joint decision-making among participants from different continents.

The gathering underscored women's vital role in shaping global policies. It highlighted their influence on economic development and environmental sustainability. By bringing together diverse perspectives, it aimed to strengthen trust and cooperation across borders.
