A key focus of the talks was the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, or CEPA, currently under negotiation between the UAE and Pakistan. Both sides expressed hope that CEPA would represent a major step in UAE–Pakistan relations by broadening trade flows, encouraging investment, and increasing economic cooperation in line with national development strategies.

The two presidents also exchanged views on wider regional and international issues of concern to both governments. They stressed the need to support peace and stability through dialogue and diplomatic approaches. The talks highlighted how coordinated positions could help regional security and also reinforce global efforts to manage emerging crises.

His Highness noted that Pakistan’s current role as a member of the United Nations Security Council offers further scope for cooperation with the UAE. This coordination at the UN is seen by both sides as a way to back initiatives that support regional stability, strengthen international security, and reflect shared positions on key multilateral issues.

President Zardari reiterated Pakistan’s view of UAE–Pakistan relations as strong and developing. President Zardari underlined Pakistan’s interest in expanding cooperation, especially in economic fields that can create new partnership opportunities.
