UAE Delegation Explores Bilateral Cooperation With OECD In Paris
A UAE government delegation recently met Ulrike Knudsen, Deputy Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris. The discussion focused on enhancing future bilateral cooperation and adopting the UAE's successful practices as global standards for OECD member states.
During their meetings with the Deputy Director-General and other senior OECD officials, the delegation showcased several government initiatives. These included the "We the UAE 2031" vision, legislative transformation, economic priorities, government innovation, smart and digital services, and the zero bureaucracy programme.

The delegation also invited the OECD Secretary-General to attend the World Governments Summit in February 2025 in Dubai. This event will feature world leaders, ministers, government officials, and experts.
The visit included meetings with various senior officials from different sectors within the international organisation. Notable attendees were Carlos Santiso from INDIGO, Paulo Santiago from PAI Division, Carlos Conde from Global Relations Secretariat, Lucia Cusmano from CFE, Mark Pearson from Employment, Labour and Social Affairs, Nadim Ahmed from CFE, Jens Lundsgaard from Science, Technology and Innovation Directorate, Nicolas Pinaud from Financial and Enterprise Affairs Directorate, Gillian Dorner from Public Governance Directorate, Isabell Koske from Country Studies Directorate, Anna Pietikainen from Regulatory Policy Division, and Karine Perset from Artificial Intelligence Unit.
Promoting Development Enablers
Huda Al Hashimi emphasised that cooperation with the OECD aligns with the UAE’s approach to fostering partnerships. This includes promoting agile governance, technology adoption, digital transformation, AI integration, zero bureaucracy initiatives to enhance government work development. The aim is to promote innovation, streamline procedures, boost community participation, develop services further encourage entrepreneurship by adopting best global practices.
The UAE delegation comprised Huda Al Hashimi (Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs), Khalid Al Harmoodi (Deputy Secretary-General for Cabinet Affairs Support), Maria Hanif Qasim (Deputy Under-Secretary for Policy and Economic Studies Sector at Ministry of Economy), Salim Al Shaami (Executive Director of Government Services at Prime Minister’s Office), Hesham Amiri (Government Services Adviser at Prime Minister’s Office), Ruqayya Al Blooshi (Executive Director for International at Prime Minister's Office).
The visit aimed to discuss strengthening cooperation between the UAE government and OECD. It also focused on presenting successful UAE experiences and sharing them with OECD members.
This collaboration seeks to accelerate development in government work by promoting innovation and facilitating procedures. It aims to enhance community participation while developing integrated smart services.
