Nafis Programme Facilitates Recruitment Of 425 Emiratis In Private Healthcare

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) announced that 425 Emiratis enrolled in Nafis’ National Healthcare Programme have secured jobs in the private healthcare sector. This follows the signing of Studying Citizen Employment Contracts. Efforts are ongoing to employ over 1,600 more UAE citizens enrolled in the programme.

MoHRE collaborated with Nafis to introduce the Studying Citizen Employment Contract. This contract is between an employer and an Emirati citizen enrolled in Nafis-supported programmes. Under this agreement, students receive company sponsorship and a minimum salary of AED4,000 through the Wage Protection System (WPS).

425 Emiratis Join Healthcare Sector

Students employed under these contracts must be registered with an authorised pension fund. They also receive financial rewards from Nafis based on their academic performance. Upon graduation, they will be employed by the sponsoring company and continue to receive financial support from Nafis according to their educational qualifications.

A student employed under a Studying Citizen Employment Contract counts towards the company's Emiratisation targets. MoHRE highlighted the success of these contracts, noting high engagement levels among young Emiratis with Nafis-supported programmes, especially the National Healthcare Programme.

"This success highlights the effectiveness of the partnership and cooperation between the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, the Nafis programme, and the private sector in training, empowering, and employing Emirati professionals in the private sector, which serves to enhance their competitiveness," MoHRE stated.

Praise for Participating Institutions

The Ministry praised private healthcare institutions that have signed Studying Citizen Employment Contracts with UAE nationals. These include Mediclinic Hospitals and Clinics, NMC Royal Hospital, Burjeel Hospitals, Health and Medical Services (HMS) Group (HMS Mirdif Hospital and HMS Al Garhoud Hospital), and the International Modern Hospital.

MoHRE's statement applauded all companies that contracted UAE citizens under these agreements. The collaboration aims to train, empower, and employ Emirati professionals in the private sector.

This initiative reflects a significant step towards enhancing employment rates among students completing these programmes. It underscores the importance of partnerships between government bodies like MoHRE, initiatives like Nafis, and private sector entities.
