In a significant call to the community, H.H. Scheduled for Thursday, 7th March, this event is a direct response to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision of dedicating a day to celebrate and engage in sports under the theme ‘The UAE Brings us Together’.

The initiative is not just a celebration but a strategic move towards embedding sports into the daily fabric of UAE society, aiming at making the nation one of the most active and health-conscious globally. Sheikh Ahmed emphasized sports as a cornerstone in the UAE’s cultural and social framework, supported by top-notch facilities, legislation, and a focus on health and education.

Highlighting the inclusive nature of sports, Sheikh Ahmed pointed out its alignment with the Olympic Movement's principle of promoting sports as a universal human right. The National Sports Day is set to be a 24-hour showcase of sports, heritage, and community activities across the UAE, with an impressive lineup of events designed for participants of all ages.

This year’s celebration is marked by an extensive range of activities across all seven emirates, initiated by collaborative efforts from government entities, educational institutions, and community groups. The event has already seen registration from 50,000 participants, with expectations for this number to grow. Key events include main walking events in Fujairah at the Fujairah Corniche and Al Mattla’ Corniche, alongside 41 other sports activities involving 48 federal and local government bodies across 40 locations.

Umm Al Quwain will host its main event at the Umm Al Qaiwain Marina with sessions accommodating different schedules. The day will also feature a walking parade with senior government officials and employees, a horse parade, and motorcycle team participation. Notably, this year's National Sports Day will see significant involvement from people of determination, with activities like kayaking and swimming led by the Umm Al Qaiwain Autism Centre and the Ministry of Community Development.

Other emirates are not left behind; Ajman’s main event will take place at the Heritage Trail, Ras Al Khaimah at the Al Qawasim Corniche organized by the General Command of Ras Al Khaimah Police, and Sharjah’s main event at Khor Fakkan Park. Abu Dhabi and Dubai are also set to host numerous sports activities throughout the day.

Faris Al-Amin, Secretary-General of the National Olympic Committee, expressed his gratitude towards H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed for his pivotal guidance in promoting the goals of National Sports Day. He also commended the executive team's commitment to organizing an inclusive range of activities that mirror the UAE's vibrant community spirit.

The comprehensive schedule for National Sports Day not only offers an opportunity for physical activity but also strengthens community bonds and showcases the UAE's commitment to fostering a healthy lifestyle among its residents.
