UAE's NMSS Collaborates With Ma'an For Groundbreaking Multiple Sclerosis Fundraising Effort

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS), a prominent UAE-based NGO operating under the Ministry of Community Development, has recently embarked on a significant collaboration aimed at bolstering support for individuals afflicted with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). This initiative comes to fruition through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, marking the launch of NMSS’s inaugural fundraising campaign.

This strategic alliance was formalized in the presence of esteemed figures including Dr. Fatima Al Kaabi, Vice-Chair of the NMSS, Director General of Emirates Drug Establishment, and Executive Director of Abu Dhabi Bone Marrow Transplant programme at Abu Dhabi Stem Cells Center (ADSCC), alongside Salama Al Ameemi, Director General of the Authority of Social Contribution - Ma’an. The partnership aims to amalgamate resources and efforts to solicit contributions from both individuals and corporations through the Ma’an Social Contribution Platform. This platform serves as the official conduit for donations intended to support social priorities in Abu Dhabi.

NMSS and Maan Unite for MS Fundraising

One hundred percent of the funds raised through this campaign will be dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for those living with MS in the UAE. The focus will be on providing support, raising awareness, and furthering research efforts in pursuit of a cure for MS. This collaboration is in perfect harmony with Ma’an’s mission to foster collaborative communities and strengthen the Third Sector to address Abu Dhabi’s social priorities effectively.

Dr. Fatima Al Kaabi expressed her enthusiasm about this partnership, highlighting its potential to significantly improve the lives of those living with MS in the UAE. She emphasized the importance of collective efforts and contributions in supporting programs, raising awareness, and advancing research towards a future free from MS.

Salama Al Ameemi also shared her insights on the importance of such partnerships in creating sustainable social impact. She pointed out that focusing on supporting individuals with MS and raising awareness about the condition reflects a comprehensive approach to addressing social priorities within the Abu Dhabi community.

This partnership not only aims to deliver support programs and improve healthcare services but also seeks to establish a supportive community for people affected by MS in the Emirates. By pooling resources and working towards common goals, NMSS and Ma’an are setting a precedent for how collaborative efforts can lead to significant advancements in healthcare and social welfare.
