UAE Ministry Of Investment Leads Discussion On Investment Promotion Agencies And Economic Recovery
The UAE Ministry of Investment has reiterated its dedication to fostering global economic partnerships and boosting investment during a panel at the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2025. This event, which runs until 13th February in Dubai, focuses on the role of Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs) in strengthening global economic resilience and attracting sustainable Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
The panel titled "Investment Promotion Agencies as Catalysts for Global Economic Recovery" featured notable industry figures. Participants included Abdullah Al Hameli from AD Ports Group, Mohamed Al Musharrakh of Sharjah FDI Office, Hadi Badri from Dubai Economic Development Corporation, Ramy Jallad of Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone, and Seán McEllin from IDA Ireland.

Mohammad Abdulrahman Alhawi, Under-Secretary of the UAE Ministry of Investment, highlighted the ministry's crucial role in promoting international collaborations. He stated that as economies become more interconnected globally, forming partnerships is essential for sustained economic growth. "By sharing knowledge, resources, and best practices, IPAs can create a collective impact that supports long-term prosperity and resilience for countries around the world," he said.
Alhawi further explained that IPAs are instrumental in shaping economic opportunities and boosting investor confidence. This is vital for encouraging both local and international capital flow. He added that by leveraging innovation, digital transformation, and strategic partnerships, impactful and sustainable investments can be achieved to contribute to long-term prosperity.
The WGS 2025 is held under the theme ‘Shaping Future Governments’ and brings together over 30 heads of state and government. More than 80 international and regional organizations are participating alongside 140 government delegations. The summit's agenda includes 21 global forums exploring future trends and transformations.
Interactive Sessions with Global Leaders
Over 200 interactive sessions are scheduled with more than 300 prominent speakers including presidents, ministers, experts, thought leaders, and decision-makers. Additionally, there will be over 30 ministerial meetings and round tables attended by more than 400 ministers.
In collaboration with its international knowledge partners, the summit will also release 30 strategic reports. These reports aim to provide insights into major future trends and transformations discussed during the event.
