UAE Medical Day Celebrated By Zayed Higher Organisation With Health Awareness And Screening For People Of Determination

The Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO), in partnership with the Emirates Medical Association, organised events to celebrate UAE Medical Day. This annual May initiative focuses on enhancing public health awareness, promoting preventive care, and advancing medical education through community activities. The campaign's goal is to support the health and well-being of People of Determination.

During the event, a panel discussion titled *"Building an Inclusive and Equitable Society"* took place. Healthcare experts discussed challenges faced by People of Determination. They emphasised early detection, comprehensive rehabilitation, mental health support, and access to reproductive health services. This session aimed to empower parents with reliable information and foster collaboration among medical partners for integrated healthcare solutions.

UAE Medical Day Focuses on Health for All

The event was coordinated with the ZHO Youth Council and involved major healthcare institutions like Burjeel Medical City, Al Reem Hospital, Fakih IVF Center, and Shareefa Yateem Rehabilitation Center. It attracted significant participation from People of Determination, their families, and ZHO staff. Attendees actively participated in health awareness sessions and on-site medical screenings.

ZHO also collaborated with Burjeel Hospital to launch a comprehensive screening campaign for People of Determination and staff. This initiative included general medical consultations, vital sign assessments such as cholesterol and random blood sugar checks, ENT and hearing screenings, dental and vision checks, nutritional consultations, and emergency response awareness sessions.

Abdullah Abdulalee Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of Zayed Higher Organisation, commented: "At Zayed Higher Organisation, we believe that health is the cornerstone of empowerment. Our participation in UAE Medical Day reflects our ongoing efforts to create a supportive environment that enhances awareness and ensures access to specialised and comprehensive medical care for People of Determination. We value our partnerships with national healthcare institutions, which are fundamental to building an inclusive and integrated care ecosystem."

Sheikha Dr. Alya Humaid Al Qassimi from the Emirates Medical Association expressed pride in their contribution to continuing medical education since May 9, 1981. She noted that UAE Medical Day honours healthcare professionals' dedication while providing a platform to thank them for safeguarding community health.

Collaborative Efforts for Inclusion

The Emirates Medical Association strongly supports initiatives addressing the needs of People of Determination. Promoting health awareness among this group and their families requires collaboration across all sectors," she added.

She praised Zayed Higher Organisation’s pioneering role in integrating healthcare within its broader empowerment framework. She reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to supporting national efforts towards a healthier, fairer society.

This campaign highlighted regular check-ups' importance while fostering a supportive workplace culture focused on health within the organisation. The event underscored how partnerships with healthcare institutions are crucial for creating inclusive care ecosystems.
