UAE Leadership Aims To Foster An Integrated, Advanced Media Ecosystem

Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Office (NMO) and Chairman of the UAE Media Council, emphasised the significant role of media in the UAE's development. He highlighted that the country's leadership supports media as a key driver of progress, promoting constructive ideas, national achievements, and community values through credible content.

During his visit to the UAE Government Media Office (GMO), Al Hamed was welcomed by Saeed Mohammad Al Eter, Assistant Minister for Strategic Projects at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and Chair of the UAE Government Media Office, along with other top officials. Al Hamed stated, "Our drive is powered by our goal to actualise the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to create an integrated, advanced UAE media environment founded on sound foundations and a pioneering model that keeps pace with the UAE's leading journey and its track record across all sectors."

UAE's Vision for Advanced Media Ecosystem

Al Eter stressed that the GMO is dedicated to coordinating media efforts and aligning policies with the NMO. This ensures that UAE's national identity is promoted through strategies that adhere to federal media laws and traditions. He noted that the UAE's media ecosystem is proactive and adapts to constant changes through awareness, planning, and expertise.

The NMO Chairman praised the collaboration between GMO and NMO. He acknowledged their joint efforts with various ministries and government institutions. Their innovative strategy adopts global best practices in media communication. This approach utilises modern tools for effective communication.

Al Hamed was briefed on major national initiatives launched by GMO. These initiatives align with UAE's vision for the future and include advanced media plans. He learned about GMO’s comprehensive strategy aimed at enhancing communication channels between the federal government and media community.

He also reviewed GMO’s efforts to highlight national campaigns across various sectors. The brief underscored new mechanisms for creating content that showcases UAE's achievements and positive values. These initiatives help enhance communication with diverse audiences.

Empowering National Talents

Al Eter discussed key programmes managed by GMO in government communication development. These include managing national campaigns, providing governmental media support, and developing national media talents. Programmes like Specialised Content Creators Programme aim to enhance efficiency in government communication.

During his tour, Al Hamed learned about operations within GMO’s departments powered by advanced technical capabilities. These departments provide reliable news about UAE government's projects. He was also informed about training workshops aimed at improving national workforce efficiency in government communication.

The visit highlighted several digital platforms overseen by GMO such as ‘UAE in Numbers’ and ‘UAE Nation’. These platforms play a crucial role in disseminating information about national projects.

The focus on empowering UAE nationals by providing creative space in media was also discussed. This strategy aims to foster creativity within the sector while keeping up with global practices.

The commitment to delivering distinctive media content was reiterated by Al Hamed. He noted that UAE media must keep pace with regional and global challenges while adapting to rapid shifts in the global landscape.

The visit concluded with an emphasis on maintaining a proactive approach in media planning driven by credibility and effective communication strategies targeting local, regional, and global audiences.
