UAE Introduces Media Apprenticeship To Develop Local Media Experts
The UAE has taken a significant stride towards fostering a new generation of media professionals with the launch of the 'Media Apprenticeship' programme. This initiative stands as a collaborative effort between the UAE Media Council and the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (ETCC), aiming to cultivate Emirati media experts who are adept at navigating the ever-evolving global media landscape. This endeavor reflects the UAE's commitment to nurturing a diversified and sustainable media economy, in line with its broader vision for national development.
The 'Media Apprenticeship' programme is specifically designed to cater to Emirati media graduates, final-year students pursuing media studies, and current media professionals keen on advancing their expertise. With the application process set to open in the upcoming weeks, the programme is poised to provide a comprehensive learning platform for participants. It seeks to arm them with the necessary skills to excel in the media industry and contribute effectively to the UAE's economic progress.

Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Office (NMO) and Chairman of the UAE Media Council, highlighted the programme's alignment with the Emirates' leadership's vision for youth empowerment. He pointed out the pivotal role of the 'Media Apprenticeship' programme in driving the development of the media sector, which in turn, is expected to act as a stimulus for economic expansion.
In his statement, Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Hamed articulated the programme's objective to create a pool of media leaders adept at producing content that resonates with the values and culture of Emirati society. "Through this programme, we aim to develop a new cadre of media leaders capable of producing meaningful and impactful media content that embodies the values and culture of Emirati society, fulfilling the audience's aspirations," he remarked.
This initiative underlines the UAE's strategic approach to media sector development, focusing on equipping young professionals with the skills required to lead and innovate in this dynamic field.
