DOCKTOUR, a collaboration between AD Ports Group and Burjeel Holdings, has made a significant contribution to Angola's healthcare by donating 800,000 essential medicines. This donation was officially handed over to Angola's Ministry of Health in the presence of Dr. Silvia Lutucuta, the Angolan Minister of Health, and UAE dignitaries.
The donated medicines include crucial antibiotics, pain relief drugs, and treatments for chronic conditions. These will help Angola's Ministry of Health improve the distribution of vital medications to communities in need. The event was attended by Mohamed Eidha Al Menhali, Regional CEO of AD Ports Group, and Safeer Ahamed, Co-CEO of Burjeel Holdings.
Dr. Silvia Lutucuta expressed gratitude for this support, highlighting the shared vision between Angola and the UAE to enhance healthcare systems. "We are grateful for this generous support. Angola and the UAE share a common vision of strengthening and enhancing healthcare systems, and today’s contribution reflects that spirit of partnership," she stated.
The donated medicines target various health issues such as acid-related disorders, diabetes, bacterial infections, allergies, hypertension, and cardiovascular conditions. This initiative aims to address some of the pressing healthcare challenges in Angola.
Safeer Ahamed emphasised DOCKTOUR's commitment to improving healthcare access across Africa. "We are deeply committed to improving access to healthcare across Africa. Through DOCKTOUR, we aim to deliver not only medicines but also hope and assurance to communities in need," he said.
