UAE And Malta Explore Ways To Boost Bilateral Relations In Various Sectors
Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), recently hosted Maria Camilleri Calleja, Ambassador of Malta to the UAE, at the Council's headquarters in Abu Dhabi. This meeting marked a significant step towards strengthening the ties between the UAE and Malta, focusing on parliamentary, cultural, and educational cooperation.
The discussions revolved around enhancing the relationship between the two nations, with a particular emphasis on the exchange of visits and experiences. Both parties highlighted the development of UAE-Malta relations, supported by the leadership of both countries. Ghobash underscored the importance of bolstering bilateral parliamentary work to support growing government cooperation and fulfill the aspirations of both nations' leadership and peoples towards developing relations based on friendship, mutual respect, and common interests.

Ghobash also pointed out Malta's strategic role in the region and stressed the need for collaboration on regional and international issues of mutual concern, including the situation in the eastern Mediterranean region. He emphasized the significance of strengthening bilateral cooperation and exchanging experiences in priority sectors such as advanced technology, innovation, tourism, and entrepreneurship within the future economic plans of both countries.
On her part, Ambassador Calleja lauded the FNC's role in fostering effective parliamentary diplomacy and its active participation in international parliamentary events.
