Madiya Al Hashmi Takes Role As Secretary-General Of Asian Camel Racing Federation For Four Years

The Executive Office of the Asian Camel Racing Federation has appointed Emirati Madiya Al Hashmi as Secretary-General for a four-year term, concluding in May 2029. This decision, along with the inclusion of India, Indonesia, and Uzbekistan Camel Racing Federations as new members, awaits ratification by the General Assembly. These resolutions were made during the federation's initial Executive Office meeting conducted via video conference.

Abdullah Mubarak Al Muhairi, President of the Asian Camel Racing Federation, led the meeting attended by executive members and representatives from member states. The session included discussions on reports from the first Asian Camel Racing Championship held in Abu Dhabi in May. Additionally, plans for the upcoming camel racing event at the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain 2025 were reviewed.

The Executive Office also approved several initiatives to enhance camel racing across Asia. These include forming working committees within the federation and launching the Grand Prize Project for the Asian Camel Racing League. Furthermore, they outlined a sports calendar for 2025–2026 featuring major events hosted by the UAE.

Members stressed the need to bolster cooperation among member federations and intensify efforts to develop camel racing throughout Asia. The meeting also highlighted the importance of hosting events like the Asian Camel Riders Camp in Abu Dhabi this October, which saw participation from nine countries.

Abdullah Mubarak Al Muhairi expressed gratitude to Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan for his unwavering support of the federation's development programs. He acknowledged Sheikh Sultan's role as Adviser to the UAE President and President of the UAE Camel Racing Federation.

Al Muhairi also praised UAE leadership for its commitment to preserving and promoting camel racing both locally and internationally. This dedication ensures that traditional sports like camel racing continue to thrive and gain recognition worldwide.
