UAE Sets Benchmark For Global Charity With Significant Aid To Gaza

The UAE continues to play a pivotal role in global humanitarian efforts, especially highlighted by its recent initiatives in Gaza. Marking the International Day of Charity, the UAE's Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 exemplifies this commitment. This initiative provides continuous relief and medical aid to Gaza residents through dedicated volunteer teams.

Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 is one of the UAE’s significant relief missions. It has achieved notable milestones, including dispatching 104 aid convoys that delivered over 20,000 tonnes of urgent humanitarian supplies. Additionally, four ships transported 18,530 tonnes of essential items such as food, tents, clothing, and medicines for displaced families in Gaza.

The UAE has also executed 259 airlifts, transporting 5,340 tonnes of aid to Gaza. This comprehensive approach ensures that essential supplies reach those in need promptly and efficiently.

In an extraordinary move, the UAE introduced the "Birds of Goodness" initiative. This program conducted 104 air drops of humanitarian aid to areas inaccessible by land. Such efforts significantly enhance the delivery of necessary supplies to Palestinians in Gaza.

The UAE's support extends beyond immediate relief efforts. It includes providing vast quantities of essential medicines and medical equipment. The country allocated US$5 million to support a polio vaccination campaign, immunising 650,000 children in Gaza.

Comprehensive Support for Local Sectors

The UAE's assistance also covers local sectors and municipalities in Gaza. This includes supplying water and sanitation equipment and repairing water pipelines and wells in Khan Younis and northern Gaza. Additionally, water distribution campaigns are organised in shelters to ensure access to clean water.

Efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure are ongoing. The UAE is enhancing hospital efficiency by supplying state-of-the-art medical equipment. These measures aim to provide long-term benefits for the health sector in Gaza.

The UAE's commitment to humanitarian work is evident from its extensive foreign aid contributions exceeding AED360 billion. This substantial support underscores the nation's dedication to assisting countries in need worldwide.
