UAE Launches 100-Day Countdown To DP World Tour Season Finale With Prestigious Golf Events

The DP World Tour has kicked off the 100-day countdown to its season-ending playoffs in the UAE. This includes the much-anticipated Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai. These events are among the most prestigious on the global golf calendar, drawing top talent from around the world.

The Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship is set to return to Yas Links from 6th to 9th November 2025. This year marks its 20th anniversary as a flagship international sporting event in the region. Organised by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the DP World Tour, it will feature the top 70 players in this season's Race to Dubai rankings.

From 13th to 16th November 2025, Dubai's Jumeirah Golf Estates will host the DP World Tour Championship. As the grand finale of the Race to Dubai season, it will see the top 50 players compete for glory and the title of Race to Dubai Champion. Rory McIlroy secured this title for a record sixth time in 2024.

The UAE’s role as host for these playoff events highlights its global stature in sports, especially golf. Rory McIlroy, one of a select few to win all four major championships in golf’s Grand Slam, has confirmed his participation in Abu Dhabi's event, marking the start of this season’s DP World Tour Playoffs.

Aref Hamad Al Awani, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, stressed how hosting this championship for two decades is a landmark achievement for Abu Dhabi. He noted that it has become integral to the DP World Tour Playoffs, attracting elite international golfers.

"Hosting the championship on Yas Island not only enhances Abu Dhabi’s reputation as a global sporting hub but also aligns with our vision of delivering unforgettable sporting experiences to both residents and international visitors," said Al Awani.

Saeed Hareb, Secretary-General of the Dubai Sports Council, remarked that "The DP World Tour Championship is more than just a golf event; it is one of the most prominent annual global sporting occasions hosted in Dubai." This underscores Dubai's commitment to hosting world-class sporting events.
