UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed And Emir Of Kuwait Discuss Strengthening Gulf Cooperation
During a meeting at Bayan Palace, UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Emir of Kuwait His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah discussed the strong historical ties between their countries. They explored ways to enhance cooperation in various fields to serve mutual interests. The meeting took place during the UAE President's state visit to Kuwait.
His Highness Sheikh Mishal warmly welcomed His Highness Sheikh Mohamed and his delegation, expressing his wishes for continued progress in the UAE under Sheikh Mohamed's leadership. He referred to Kuwait as their "second home." The leaders reviewed cooperation in areas like economy, trade, and investment, aiming to support both nations' developmental goals.

The discussions also covered regional and international developments, particularly focusing on Gaza and Lebanon. Both leaders stressed the need for intensified international efforts to halt hostilities in Gaza, prioritising civilian protection according to international humanitarian law. They reaffirmed their commitment to Lebanon’s unity and called for urgent action to protect civilians there.
Their Highnesses emphasised the importance of Gulf cooperation, supporting efforts that strengthen coordination among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states. They highlighted the need for regional security and stability. The leaders also underscored the necessity of working towards a just peace based on a two-state solution ensuring security for all.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed expressed pleasure at visiting Kuwait and thanked His Highness Sheikh Mishal for the warm welcome. He noted that UAE-Kuwaiti relations are deeply rooted in shared history and values. Economic cooperation was highlighted as a foundation for growth, fulfilling aspirations for progress at GCC and Arab levels.
The Emir of Kuwait stated that the UAE President’s visit marks a new chapter in their strong historical relations. He emphasised mutual commitment through bilateral efforts like the Kuwait-UAE Joint Committee, coordinating on economy, investment, and trade. This collaboration aims to benefit both peoples.
Commitment to Shared Principles
The Emir of Kuwait expressed pride in the alignment between Kuwaiti and Emirati positions on regional matters. He stressed that confronting evolving challenges requires adherence to principles guided by international conventions. The need to prioritise wisdom was highlighted amid sensitive regional situations.
A luncheon hosted by His Highness Sheikh Mishal honoured His Highness Sheikh Mohamed and his delegation. Attendees included several prominent UAE figures such as H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President; H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan; H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan; among others.
From Kuwait's side, attendees included Crown Prince His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Sabah along with several Sheikhs, ministers, and senior officials. This gathering further strengthened ties between the two nations.
