UAE Joins Forces With Khan Younis To Mend Water Lines Under Operation Chivalrous Knight 3

The UAE has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Khan Younis Municipality under "Operation Chivalrous Knight 3". This agreement focuses on repairing water lines and conducting emergency maintenance of water networks in the city. The initiative aims to ease residents' suffering and help the municipality provide essential infrastructure services within its capabilities.

The MoU is part of the UAE's efforts to offer urgent humanitarian solutions for Khan Younis. It includes funding to re-operate water wells and reservoirs, many of which were damaged. Approximately 70% of the main water networks were affected, with 25 wells completely destroyed and 12 partially damaged. This situation has worsened the city's water crisis over recent months, making it hard for displaced people to access water.

UAE and Khan Younis Tackle Water Crisis

The UAE's support extends to repairing water submersibles, providing materials for external water networks, purchasing water barrels for central filling points, and supplying operational materials like solar and gas. These efforts aim to deliver water to densely populated areas where displaced people are concentrated, preventing health disasters and improving environmental conditions.

Within "Operation Chivalrous Knight 3", the UAE is also providing humanitarian aid and daily water supplies to displaced families across the Gaza Strip. This initiative helps thousands of displaced people daily, alleviating their suffering amid the catastrophic conditions in the region.

The damage to Khan Younis's water infrastructure has significantly burdened the municipality. The destruction and ground invasion have hindered its ability to deliver water effectively, especially with nearly 900,000 displaced people now in the area. The UAE's intervention aims to reduce this burden by supporting essential repairs and maintenance.

This MoU also contributes to extending external water networks and maintaining submersibles. By doing so, it ensures that clean water reaches densely populated areas where many displaced individuals reside. This effort is crucial in preventing potential health crises and enhancing living conditions for residents.

Overall, these initiatives reflect the UAE's commitment to addressing urgent humanitarian needs in Khan Younis. By focusing on essential infrastructure repairs and providing daily necessities like water, the UAE aims to improve living conditions for those affected by recent conflicts.
