UAE Jordan Parliamentary Cooperation Strengthened As Saqr Ghobash Receives Assistant Speaker Of Jordanian Senate
The UAE is hosting the second Women Parliamentary Forum of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, where Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council, meets Suhair Al Ali from Jordan’s Senate to discuss stronger parliamentary cooperation and wider ties between the two countries.
The forum, organised by the Federal National Council, brings together speakers of parliaments, parliamentary delegations, and regional and international civil society organisations from Gulf Cooperation Council states and the Euro-Mediterranean region, highlighting regional interest in women’s parliamentary participation and structured dialogue on legislative experiences.
During the meeting, Saqr Ghobash welcomes Suhair Al Ali, Assistant to the Speaker of the Senate of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Vice President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, and praises the participation of the Jordanian delegation in the forum as a sign of close institutional engagement.
Saqr Ghobash states that the UAE values its longstanding historical relationship with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, noting that these ties are grounded in mutual respect and shared interests, and stressing that both countries aim to deepen cooperation in multiple sectors, including legislative work and structured parliamentary coordination.
Ghobash underlines the importance of enhancing parliamentary cooperation through exchanging expertise and learning from the legislative experience of both councils, explaining that joint work between the Federal National Council and the Jordanian Senate supports broader collaboration between the two brotherly countries across political, economic and social dimensions.
For her part, Suhair Al Ali affirms the strength and depth of the fraternal relations between the UAE and Jordan, stating that these relations rest on firm, enduring principles and mutual respect, and pointing out that the wise leaderships in both countries seek to strengthen cooperation on political, economic and parliamentary levels.
