Parliamentary Cooperation Between UAE And Italy Strengthens Climate And Environment Ties
Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi held talks in Abu Dhabi with Jacopo Morrone on strengthening UAE–Italy parliamentary cooperation, focusing on climate, environment, and security. The meeting brought together members of the Federal National Council to review how joint parliamentary work can support political dialogue, advance sustainable development goals, and align positions in regional and international forums.
Both delegations underlined that the UAE and Italy are united by a strong commitment to peace, security, and stability at regional and global levels. They highlighted shared efforts to combat terrorism and extremism, stressing that international coordination is essential for consolidating global security and supporting long-term stability in different regions.
The discussions explored how UAE–Italy parliamentary cooperation can complement governmental policies on climate and environment. Participants examined regional and international developments linked to environmental risk, energy transition, and green growth. They also considered how parliaments can track climate commitments, encourage sustainable practices, and exchange expertise on legislation that supports low‑carbon economies and environmental protection.
Dr. Al Nuaimi stated that UAE–Italy relations form a practical model of cooperation built on mutual respect and shared interests. He explained that active parliamentary communication supports strategic partnerships between the two countries, reinforces coordination in international parliamentary assemblies, and helps align views on files related to sustainable development, security, climate policy, and the wider international agenda.
During the meeting, Dr. Al Nuaimi noted that the UAE follows a stable policy based on tolerance, coexistence, and respect for cultural and religious diversity. He said these values are essential for sustainable development and social stability. Both sides agreed that these principles give UAE–Italy parliamentary cooperation a strong base for future joint work across multiple sectors.
