UAE Italy Relations Strengthened As UAE President Meets Italian President During State Visit
President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held talks with His Excellency Sergio Mattarella at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, where both leaders discussed ways to deepen bilateral cooperation and the wider UAE-Italy strategic partnership, focusing on shared goals for stability, prosperity, and development for their countries and peoples.
The meeting covered core areas for future collaboration, including trade, investment, advanced technology, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, sustainability, and cultural exchange. The two presidents also examined regional and international developments, stressing dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful solutions to conflicts that support security and stability within the region and globally.
Upon arrival at Qasr Al Shati, His Excellency Mattarella received an official reception. His Highness greeted the Italian President as an honour guard presented a salute, while the presidential motorcade entered the venue accompanied by a cavalry procession. His Excellency Mattarella then met Sheikhs, ministers, and senior officials who assembled to receive the delegation.
His Highness later hosted a luncheon for His Excellency Mattarella and the accompanying Italian delegation. The event provided additional time for informal discussions on UAE-Italy relations, allowed officials from both sides to exchange views, and reinforced the importance that the leaderships place on the UAE-Italy strategic partnership and long-term cooperation framework.

His Highness highlighted the UAE’s interest in building on achievements from recent years and using new opportunities, with cultural cooperation described as a key bridge for dialogue, mutual understanding, and the promotion of shared human values.
His Excellency Mattarella expressed appreciation for the warm reception and highlighted the strength of the UAE-Italy strategic partnership. His Excellency noted that relations between the two countries rest on trust, mutual respect, and a common aim to advance development and prosperity that benefits both societies and supports broader international cooperation.
The talks were attended by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court; H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; alongside several ministers, senior UAE officials, and members of the Italian President’s delegation.
The discussions at Qasr Al Shati highlighted the continuity of UAE-Italy relations and the shared intention to expand the UAE-Italy strategic partnership across priority sectors.
