UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed And Iraqi PM Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties And Regional Issues

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Iraq's Prime Minister, His Excellency Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani, met in Abu Dhabi to strengthen the relationship between their countries. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation, especially in economic and developmental areas, to align with both nations' priorities and benefit their citizens.

The meeting took place at Qasr Al Shati during the Iraqi Prime Minister's working visit to the UAE. Both leaders emphasised the importance of establishing a clear path to lasting peace in the Middle East. They discussed diplomatic initiatives that could support regional security, stability, and development.

During their discussions, they highlighted the significance of recent international recognition of the State of Palestine. This was seen as a crucial step towards achieving the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people. Both leaders agreed on the necessity of enhancing joint Arab action to address regional challenges effectively.

The UAE President and Iraqi Prime Minister reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening UAE-Iraq relations. They stressed that this cooperation would serve both countries' interests while reinforcing regional stability and security. Their dialogue also covered various regional and international issues of mutual concern.

The meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials from both nations. Among them were H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security; Abdulla Matar Al Mazrouei, UAE Ambassador to Iraq; along with other senior officials.

Earlier in the day, upon his arrival at Abu Dhabi’s Presidential Flight, His Excellency Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani was welcomed by H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. Several ministers and senior officials were also present to greet him.

The discussions underscored a shared commitment to furthering cooperation between UAE and Iraq. Both leaders recognised that strengthening ties would not only benefit their countries but also contribute positively to regional peace efforts.
