UAE Investments Play Key Role In Stimulating Economic Growth In Latvia, Says Prime Minister Siliņa
Evika Siliņa, the Prime Minister of Latvia, has underscored the importance of enhancing ties between Latvia and the UAE. She highlighted significant potential for collaboration, especially in technology, artificial intelligence, and tourism. Speaking at the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2025 in Dubai, she noted that Emirati investments are vital for Latvia's economic growth.
Siliņa described Emirati investors as "ambassadors of security and stability" due to their partnerships with Latvia's economy. She emphasised that economic relations between the two nations are expanding swiftly. Understanding the UAE’s future vision is crucial for Latvia, given its EU membership and opportunities for cooperation with GCC countries.

The Latvian Prime Minister pointed out shared interests between both nations. They aim to boost collaboration among government entities, businesses, and scientific communities. Some Latvian companies have already formed partnerships in the UAE. Additionally, Eagle Hills, a major Emirati company, is investing in Latvia alongside other Emirati entrepreneurs.
During her first visit to the UAE as Prime Minister, Siliņa praised the World Governments Summit. She was accompanied by ministers, private sector representatives, and scientists. This delegation reflects Latvia’s unique identity that integrates these sectors to drive development.
Siliņa met with Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, and Abdulrahman Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention. Discussions focused on potential cooperation across various fields. She also met with private sector representatives to explore further collaboration opportunities.
The Prime Minister highlighted significant prospects in tourism. She affirmed that Latvia views Dubai as a preferred winter destination for its citizens. This preference opens avenues for increased bilateral tourism exchanges between the two countries.
Focus on Technology and AI
Regarding technology and artificial intelligence, Siliņa met Omar bin Sultan Al Olama. He is the Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications and Vice Chairman of the World Governments Summit. Their discussions centred on advancing cooperation in these areas.
The visit underscores Latvia's commitment to strengthening ties with the UAE across multiple sectors. By fostering these relationships, both countries can benefit from shared knowledge and economic growth opportunities.
