UAE's Influence On Global Exhibitions Highlighted Ahead Of Expo 2025 Osaka
Hiroyuki Ishige, Secretary-General of Expo 2025 Osaka, emphasised the importance of Expo 2020 Dubai in shaping the success of the upcoming event. The expertise and exceptional organisation demonstrated in Dubai have set a high standard. Ishige noted that the UAE Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka will be a highlight, showcasing the nation's progress and global standing in international exhibitions.
Expo 2025 Osaka is scheduled from 13th April to 13th October 2025 on Yumeshima island. The theme is "Designing Future Society for Our Lives." Ishige praised Expo 2020 Dubai's organisation, highlighting lessons learned from its experience. He also appreciated the participation of both the UAE and Saudi Arabia, which will host Expo 2030.

The event will feature the Grand Ring, a massive wooden structure with a two-kilometre perimeter encircling the pavilions. This rooftop walkway offers panoramic views of Osaka city and its bay. More than 150 national and special days will be celebrated, allowing visitors to explore diverse histories without needing a passport.
Ishige shared that 158 countries and regions, along with nine international organisations, have confirmed their participation so far. Construction is progressing well, with over 50,000 volunteers, mainly young people, committed to assisting in organising the event.
The number of Arab countries participating has risen from seven in Japan's previous Expo in 1970 to eleven now. This increase reflects growing interest from the Arab region. Ishige highlighted World Expos as platforms for enhancing economic diplomacy. He cited Expo 2020 Dubai as an example, attended by French President Emmanuel Macron and other world leaders.
Ishige expressed confidence that Expo 2025 Osaka will build on Dubai's success by incorporating valuable insights gained there. The UAE's involvement is expected to contribute significantly to the event's impact and reach.
