UAE And India Bolster Strategic Partnership With High-Level Delegation Visit
In a significant move to bolster the strategic partnership between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of India, Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, spearheaded a high-level UAE delegation to India on the 29th and 30th of April. This visit underscores the commitment of both nations to enhance their bilateral relations across various sectors.
During her stay in New Delhi, Al Hashimy engaged in pivotal discussions with Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, India's Minister of External Affairs. The dialogue focused on strengthening bilateral relations and exploring new avenues for cooperation in diverse fields. The meeting also provided an opportunity for both parties to review recent regional developments and their impact on peace and security at both regional and international levels. Dr. Abdulnasser Alshaali, UAE Ambassador to India, was also present at this significant meeting.

The UAE delegation's agenda included a crucial meeting with Vinay Kwatra, Foreign Secretary at the Ministry of External Affairs in India. The discussions aimed at deepening cooperation in various areas such as economy, trade, development, culture, scientific advancement, technology, and aviation. Moreover, the two sides exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest, including topics related to the BRICS and G20 agendas.
Highlighting a landmark achievement in UAE-India relations, Al Hashimy noted that the upcoming second anniversary of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the two countries on 1st May marks a significant milestone. Since its inception in 2021, CEPA has successfully increased the volume of bilateral non-oil trade by 19 percent between 2021 and 2023.
Al Hashimy's visit also included a tour of the National Crafts Museum in India. She praised the museum's collection, which showcases pieces from various Indian states collected over several decades. Emphasizing the importance of cultural exchange, Al Hashimy stated that such interactions play a crucial role in fostering mutual respect and understanding between societies.
The visit by Al Hashimy not only reaffirms the strong historic strategic relations shared by the UAE and India but also sets the stage for future collaborative successes aimed at achieving shared goals for both countries and their peoples. This engagement highlights the ongoing commitment to strengthening ties and exploring new opportunities for cooperation within international forums.
