UAE-India Friendship Hospital: Dubai Health Partners To Enhance Healthcare Access For Workers

Dubai Health has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the UAE-India Friendship Hospital's founding trustees. This partnership aims to enhance healthcare access in Dubai, focusing on equitable services. The initiative highlights the commitment of both nations to improve healthcare quality for all, especially benefiting the blue-collar workforce crucial to Dubai's growth.

The UAE-India Friendship Hospital is a collaborative effort supported by Dubai and India's leadership. It aims to provide affordable healthcare, primarily for Dubai's blue-collar workers. This MoU lays the groundwork for a healthcare model that offers inclusive medical services, reflecting both countries' dedication to community welfare.

Dubai Health Signs MoU for New Hospital

The hospital project was announced during H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's official visit to India. It underscores the shared goal of strengthening bilateral ties and supporting communities vital to the UAE's progress. The initiative is a testament to both countries' commitment to uplifting these communities.

The founding trustees include prominent Indian businessmen known for their philanthropic efforts in the UAE: Faizal Kottikollon, Nilesh Ved, Siddharth Balachandran, Tariq Chauhan, and Ramesh S Ramakrishnan. Their collaboration with Dubai Health seeks to expand quality care access for Dubai’s blue-collar workforce.

The MoU signing marks a significant step towards establishing a hospital dedicated to compassion and care for the workforce. This aligns with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's support for such initiatives.

Dr. Amer Sharif, CEO of Dubai Health, expressed honour in this collaboration that reflects shared values and leadership commitment. "This collaboration aligns with the objectives of the Dubai Social Agenda 33," he said, highlighting its role in promoting well-being and developing an efficient healthcare system.

Unified Support from Key Stakeholders

Kshitij Korde from UIBC-UC also attended, showing unified support from the council. The trustees emphasised that this event signifies more than just launching a healthcare project; it begins a transformative initiative delivering essential services to those who have been integral to Dubai's growth.

"We are deeply grateful for the unwavering support of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum," stated the trustees. They acknowledged contributions from Dubai Health, CDA, Indian Embassy in UAE, Consulate General of India in Dubai, and UIBC UC in realising this project.

The MoU represents a landmark moment in building a future-ready health system prioritising patients first. This partnership ensures that the hospital will be a symbol of care and commitment to those who have significantly contributed to Dubai’s development.
