UAE-India Talks Aim To Strengthen Bilateral Partnership Across Economy, AI And Energy

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met His Excellency Narendra Modi in New Delhi for talks focused on strengthening UAE-India ties. The discussions built on their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and Comprehensive Economic Partnership, and highlighted how both countries plan to deepen cooperation across priority sectors and shared strategic interests.

The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s Residence during His Highness’ working visit to the Republic of India. At the start of the talks, His Highness congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on India’s Republic Day, marked on 26 January, and wished continued progress and prosperity for India and its people.

Both leaders reviewed how UAE-India relations have grown in scope and depth in recent years. They focused on areas that support economic growth and sustainable development, such as investment, space activities, technology, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and food security, stressing that these sectors could deliver new opportunities for both countries.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed said the UAE and India share a forward-looking vision for cooperation. The focus is to make full use of emerging opportunities, particularly in technology and artificial intelligence, which both sides see as having major potential to support a more prosperous future for their societies and future generations.

His Highness and Prime Minister Narendra Modi also discussed regional and international issues of mutual concern. They underlined the importance of ongoing dialogue and regular high-level exchanges, noting that these contacts support coordination on global challenges and reflect the depth of the UAE-India relationship at political, economic, and people-to-people levels.

The two sides highlighted how UAE-India relations support multilateral cooperation aimed at global development, stability, and prosperity. They agreed that joint action within international groupings can help address shared priorities, and reaffirmed their belief in collective international efforts as the most effective way to handle complex cross-border issues.

His Highness reaffirmed the UAE’s support for efforts that advance peace in South Asia. This position follows the UAE’s longstanding approach of encouraging settlement of disputes through dialogue and diplomatic means, in ways that respect the interests of all parties and help maintain stability across the wider region.

During the talks, His Highness conveyed best wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as India prepares to hold the BRICS chairmanship for 2026. His Highness expressed confidence in India’s ability to lead the group’s work to advance its objectives, especially those linked to development and economic cooperation between member states.

His Highness also extended good wishes for the India AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled to take place next month. His Highness expressed hope that the summit’s discussions and outcomes would further strengthen the role of artificial intelligence in supporting global development and driving practical solutions in multiple sectors.

The meeting was attended by the delegation accompanying the UAE President. The delegation included His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence; His Highness Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; and several ministers and senior UAE officials.

After completing the working programme in the Republic of India, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan departed the country. The visit underscored the importance both sides place on UAE-India relations, and reinforced their shared commitment to expanding cooperation, supporting regional stability, and working together on long-term development goals.
