UAE President and Indian Prime Minister Discuss Enhancing Strategic Partnership
During a significant meeting in Abu Dhabi, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Excellency Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of the Republic of India, delved into discussions aimed at enhancing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and Comprehensive Economic Partnership between the UAE and India. This dialogue was part of the Indian Prime Minister's visit to the UAE, where he is also set to participate in the World Governments Summit 2024 in Dubai.
At the outset of their meeting, His Highness extended a warm welcome to Prime Minister Modi, who expressed his gratitude for the hospitality shown during his visit. He also appreciated the invitation for India to be a guest of honour at the summit. The leaders reviewed the progress in their bilateral partnership, focusing on economic, investment, development, renewable energy, and food security sectors. These discussions are pivotal for achieving sustainable economic development and prosperity for both nations.
Furthermore, they exchanged views on various regional and international issues of mutual interest. Their discussions underscored the importance of supporting multilateral action to foster global stability, cooperation, and prosperity.

The significance of the World Governments Summit, under the theme "Shaping Future Governments," was also a key topic. The summit serves as a global platform for sharing expertise and innovative solutions to enhance governmental work and address common challenges. It aims at bolstering national development, sustainability, and future preparedness.
Exchange of Memoranda and Agreements
The meeting witnessed the exchange of several memoranda of understanding and agreements designed to boost the comprehensive strategic partnership between the UAE and India. These agreements span across various sectors including investment, trade, digital infrastructure projects, electrical connectivity, maritime transport, ports, railways, cross-border remittance network connectivity, linking instant payment platforms, and establishing an economic corridor between India, the Middle East, and Europe.
The exchange on behalf of the UAE was facilitated by Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation. Representing India was His Excellency Vinay Mohan Kwatra, Foreign Secretary.

The meeting saw attendance from notable UAE dignitaries such as His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court; H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser; among others. The delegation accompanying Prime Minister Modi included several ministers and senior officials.
