UAE And India Advance Cultural Collaboration Through High-Level Meeting Focused On Creative Partnerships

A high-level meeting was recently held to strengthen cultural ties between the United Arab Emirates and India. Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi co-chaired the meeting with K. Nandini Singla, Director General of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). The UAE delegation included key figures like Mubarak Al Nakhi, Ghanem Al Hajeri, Abdulnasser Alshaali, and Abdelrahman Al Maeeni.

The primary focus of the meeting was to operationalise the India-UAE Cultural Council. Discussions centred on enhancing people-to-people connections and collaboration in arts, education, creative industries, heritage conservation, and youth engagement. Both sides expressed a strong commitment to fostering these areas for mutual benefit.

UAE and India Enhance Cultural Collaboration

A significant topic during the discussions was the establishment of an India House in the UAE. This concept aims to create a cultural hub that showcases India's rich artistic and cultural heritage globally. The idea is to provide a platform for cultural exchange and understanding between the two nations.

Both delegations explored ways to support creative start-ups and business collaborations. They discussed forming thematic sub-committees to oversee cooperation across priority areas. These initiatives aim to boost innovation and creativity within both countries' dynamic art and creative communities.

Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi remarked on the significance of the meeting: "The meeting with Nandini Singla and the ICCR delegation served as a symbol of the UAE and India’s shared commitment to developing enhanced cultural and creative partnerships. By expanding cultural exchanges and fostering collaboration across our dynamic art and creative communities, we are ensuring that the enduring ties between our two nations continues to flourish."

Commitment to Future Initiatives

The meeting concluded with both parties affirming their intent to implement initiatives aligned with visions set by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. These initiatives are expected to be outcome-oriented, focusing on tangible benefits for both countries.

This collaborative effort underscores a shared vision for deepening cultural ties between the UAE and India. By focusing on various sectors such as arts, education, and heritage conservation, both nations aim to build a robust partnership that benefits their citizens.
