UAE And India Hold 5th Joint Consular Committee Meeting In New Delhi
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Republic of India recently convened the fifth session of their joint consular committee in New Delhi. The meeting aimed to advance and consolidate cooperation in various consular fields, benefiting citizens of both nations. Khalid Abdulla Belhoul, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led the UAE delegation, while Muktesh Pardeshi, Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs, headed the Indian side.
During the session, both parties discussed several common consular matters and plans for their development. They also explored ways to enhance joint consular cooperation. Belhoul lauded the historical ties between the UAE and India and expressed appreciation for India's efforts to strengthen bilateral relations since the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2017.

Belhoul highlighted that the UAE and India have successfully established an advanced and sustainable model for their strategic relations. This model has resulted in numerous achievements across various sectors. These accomplishments serve as an incentive for further success, aiming to achieve joint development goals and foster future cooperation in the consular field.
Belhoul conveyed greetings from H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, who praised the positive developments between the two countries. He emphasized the UAE's commitment to strengthening and developing relations with India, reflecting the ambitions and directions of their leadership.
The relationship between the UAE and India has seen significant growth and deepening cooperation, particularly since upgrading their bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2017. The implementation of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) on 1st May 2022 has significantly boosted trade relations between the two countries.
Trade Relations and Economic Goals
The CEPA aims to achieve a bilateral trade volume of up to US$100 billion before 2030. This agreement has already had a substantial impact on trade relations, demonstrating the commitment of both nations to economic collaboration.
The fifth session of the joint consular committee marks another step forward in enhancing cooperation between the UAE and India. Both countries continue to work towards achieving their shared goals, fostering a future rich in partnerships and mutual benefits.
