UAE And ICAO Partner To Launch Global Accelerator Ambassador Programme For Aviation Innovation

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) government has initiated a pioneering program known as the Global Accelerators Ambassadors Programme. This initiative is designed to foster collaboration between the Government Accelerators and various international organizations. The inaugural cohort, in partnership with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), aims to disseminate the UAE government's methodologies and empower these organizations to expedite the design and execution of transformative projects. Additionally, the program seeks to cultivate a culture of acceleration by enhancing the skills of accelerator ambassadors, who are employees from these international entities.

The official launch of this innovative program was held during a workshop at ICAO's headquarters in Montreal, Canada. This initiative underscores the UAE's commitment to sharing its government accelerator models and concepts on a global scale, thereby fostering international capabilities and partnerships. Huda AlHashimi, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs, highlighted that this program marks a new era of knowledge-based partnerships between the UAE government and international organizations, aimed at exchanging experiences and aiding these entities in achieving their objectives.

Juan Carlos Salazar, Secretary-General of the ICAO, expressed his appreciation for the UAE government's support. He underscored the program's significant contribution towards the development of the global aviation sector and described the workshop as a blueprint for future collaborations between member states and the ICAO. This aligns with the organization's transformative goals and its mission to add value to the aviation industry.

The Global Accelerators Ambassadors Programme is structured into six courses spanning three stages: design, planning, and implementation, which are to be completed over a span of 100 days. The Government Accelerators team has conducted several workshops aimed at training ICAO employees in their accelerator methodology. These sessions provided a platform for discussing innovative ideas, initiatives, and projects focused on restructuring procedures, automation, data unification, and talent development. The workshops also served to showcase the UAE's expertise in developing government accelerators and underscored their significance in forging strategic international partnerships.

The collaboration between the UAE and ICAO was formalized during the World Governments Summit 2022. This partnership is centered around institutional development, knowledge sharing, and imparting the UAE's civil aviation experiences.
