UAE Humanitarian Aid Initiative Supports Food Security In Chad Following Presidential Directives
The UAE, guided by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, extended significant humanitarian aid to Chad from 25th December 2024 to 15th January 2025. This effort aimed to support families affected by recent floods, improve food security in hard-hit areas, and alleviate the impact of these natural disasters.
The UAE's assistance included 1,000 tonnes of essential supplies. This comprised 30,000 food packages and over 20,000 blankets among other necessities. The aid has positively impacted more than 150,000 people, especially those living in rural and remote regions.

Rashid Al Shamsi, the UAE Ambassador to Chad, highlighted the strong bilateral relations between the two nations. He stated that this initiative reflects the UAE's global commitment to supporting communities in need. "We are working in collaboration with local partners to ensure the distribution of aid to affected people," he said.
Al Shamsi emphasised that this project aligns with the UAE's dedication to humanitarian and developmental efforts worldwide. This approach follows the legacy of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and current leadership directives. The aim is to provide swift support during crises and disasters.
The initiative was executed through the UAE Embassy in N’Djamena’s Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Aid. It involved cooperation with relevant entities in Chad to ensure effective implementation. These efforts reinforce humanitarian solidarity values and contribute to sustainable development goals.
The UAE's actions have significantly improved living conditions for many affected individuals in Chad. By addressing immediate needs and enhancing food security, the initiative has played a crucial role in supporting vulnerable communities during challenging times.
