The UAE's successful hosting of the 28th Universal Postal Congress in Dubai was celebrated at a ceremony held at the Dubai Chambers Majlis. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for the event, praised the efforts of committee members and national entities. Their contributions were crucial in reinforcing the UAE’s status as a global hub for international dialogue and innovation in postal and logistics services.
The Congress brought together over 2,200 participants from 192 countries. It resulted in the adoption of the ‘Dubai Strategy 2026-2029’, a new framework aimed at advancing the global postal sector. The UAE will oversee this strategy's implementation through the ‘Dubai Business Plan’ over the next four years. This reflects the country's commitment to shaping future postal services.

Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori highlighted that this achievement was due to joint national efforts and institutional integration. He stated, "This achievement reflects the UAE’s capacity to drive change and define the future through teamwork and strong cooperation among government, semi-government, and private entities, thereby strengthening the country’s reputation on the global stage." The Congress underscored the UAE's role as a communication bridge among nations.
Tariq Al Wahedi, Group CEO of 7X and official representative to the UPU, acknowledged all organisations involved in making this event successful nationally. He emphasised that this milestone was achieved through collaboration across various sectors. Al Wahedi remarked on how this collective effort marked a significant turning point for global postal and logistics sectors.
The ‘Dubai Strategy 2026–2029’ focuses on developing regulatory frameworks and enhancing quality standards. It aims to expand access to postal services while promoting innovation and digital transformation. This strategy addresses e-commerce advancements by integrating digital solutions across postal networks, ensuring smart, customer-focused offerings.
Additionally, it supports sustainable development by fostering technical cooperation, public-private partnerships, and institutional capacities. These efforts aim to promote economic inclusion and contribute to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) globally. The strategy is set to transform outcomes into projects advancing economic growth.
Al Wahedi stated, "The outcomes of the Congress signal a significant turning point for the global postal and logistics sector, as evidenced by the adoption of the ‘Dubai Strategy 2026–2029’ which intends to direct global efforts towards digital transformation, sustainability, and integration of postal and logistics networks."
