UAE Government Media Office Introduces Comprehensive Social Media Guide For Government Entities

The UAE Government Media Office has introduced a Social Media Guide for Government Entities. This initiative aims to keep up with the swift changes in social media and improve communication between federal government bodies and the public. Saeed Mohammad Al Eter, Assistant Minister for Strategic Projects at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs, announced this during a meeting at Emirates Towers in Dubai.

The guide, created with the New Media Academy, offers a detailed framework for standardising social media use by government bodies. It seeks to ensure consistent messaging and enhance the digital presence of these entities while promoting interaction with the public. The guide also provides best practices for crafting effective digital communication strategies, focusing on content creation, visual identity, and audience engagement.

Alia Al Hammadi, Vice Chairperson of the UAE Government Media Office and CEO of the New Media Academy, highlighted the guide's role in improving government content creation and delivery. She stated that it introduces innovative methods to ensure clarity and impact on the public. The guide also details tools for producing specialised media content, developing storytelling techniques, managing crises, and leveraging trends to boost government messaging effectiveness.

Khadija Hussain, Executive Director of Government Communication at the UAE Government Media Office, stressed the importance of effective social media communication amid rapid technological advancements. She noted that the guide is crucial for unifying communication practices and ensuring clear messages that align with the UAE’s vision while strengthening public engagement.

The meeting included a workshop organised by the UAE Government Media Office and New Media Academy. Experts shared best practices for governmental social media presence. The event also showcased results from a "Specialised content creator programme," which aims to enhance government communication teams' skills in producing specialised digital content.

This programme selects graduates to join the Talent Development and Management Programme. Participants learn to create high-quality digital content reflecting the UAE’s positive image. The programme offers training in innovative content strategies like visual identity development, writing techniques, filming, and digital publishing.

This initiative is vital in nurturing young talent within government communication. It prepares a new generation of content creators who will contribute to enhancing the UAE government's digital presence and engaging effectively with diverse audiences.
