UAE Government Leaders Programme Participants Explore Vietnam’s Development Transformation And Global Leadership Insights

During a meeting with the UAE Government Leaders Programme delegation, Ho Duc Phoc, Vietnam's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, underscored the significance of strengthening ties between Vietnam and the UAE. He praised the UAE's leadership in sectors like education, technology, and investment. The meeting was part of a knowledge visit to Vietnam organised with UNICEF.

The delegation included Dr. Bader Al Matrooshi, UAE Ambassador to Vietnam, Khaled Sharaf, Director of the UAE Government Leaders Programme, and senior Vietnamese officials. Ho Duc Phoc expressed Vietnam's desire to elevate collaboration by sharing experiences and encouraging Emirati youth to explore investment opportunities in Vietnam.

Exploring Vietnam’s Development with UAE Leaders

Omar Sultan Al Olama, UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, highlighted the UAE's commitment to enhancing global partnerships. He stated that this approach aligns with the UAE leadership's vision to deepen international cooperation and tackle future challenges effectively. "We believe that the strong ties between the governments of the UAE and Vietnam alongside the shared, promising opportunities of development offer fertile ground for broader strategic collaboration and bilateral partnerships across multiple sectors," he added.

The visit aimed to introduce participants to diverse international models through experiential learning. It covered cities like Hanoi, Dien Bien, and Ba Vi, providing insights into Vietnam's development journey. Participants engaged with challenges related to water sustainability and community development while exploring Vietnam’s economic transformation.

The programme featured educational tracks such as "Purpose-Driven Leadership," which addressed clean water access challenges in partnership with UNICEF. Another track, "Discovering Inner Leadership," focused on self-awareness and resilience in Ba Vi. The "Strategic Insight" track explored Vietnam’s economic innovation path.

In Dien Bien province, participants developed climate-resilient water systems benefiting over 20,000 residents. This field experience enhanced their cultural adaptability and cross-cultural collaboration skills. Final presentations to UNICEF officials included proposals informed by these experiences.

Vietnam’s Economic Success Stories

The delegation visited Vingroup, Vietnam’s largest private-sector enterprise, learning about its diverse portfolio in transport, energy, education, technology, construction, communications, and investment. They toured VinUniversity and VinFast, showcasing Vietnam’s industrial progress.

The programme emphasised self-learning and global benchmarking through a new leadership development methodology. Participants learned transformational leadership tools for managing future challenges by combining theoretical knowledge with applied training.

Programme’s Impact on Leadership Skills

This hands-on approach equips participants with skills for designing transformative projects by learning from global success models. It promotes self-directed learning capabilities while building leadership skills tailored for UAE talents.

Participants collaborated with UNICEF and Vietnamese authorities on solutions for clean water scarcity affecting children’s health in underserved areas. This partnership aimed at delivering lasting community-wide impact through co-designed actionable solutions.

In Ba Vi's mountainous region, participants embarked on a transformative leadership journey focusing on personal strengths and adaptive approaches. This retreat offered reflection time away from daily routines to gain fresh insights for future-focused ideas.

The latest edition of the UAE Government Leaders Programme 2.0 introduces an integrated methodology for developing leaders' personal and professional skills through global case studies and experiential learning.
