UAE's Vision For Artificial Intelligence: Insights From Omar Sultan Al Olama At Digital Bridge 2025

Under the patronage of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan, Omar Sultan Al Olama, UAE's Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, attended the "Digital Bridge 2025" Forum in Astana. He also participated in the Advisory Artificial Intelligence Council sessions, which included government officials and global AI experts.

The UAE and Kazakhstan have a strong partnership focused on technology. In the past year alone, they signed 22 agreements worth over US$5 billion. The UAE is Kazakhstan’s top Arab partner in trade, energy, and transport sectors. This collaboration aims to leverage technology for a more sustainable future.

UAE's AI Leadership Highlighted by Omar Sultan Al Olama

Both nations aim to advance artificial intelligence applications. Kazakhstan recently established a Ministry of Artificial Intelligence to boost innovation and digital transformation. Meanwhile, the UAE launched the region's first National AI Strategy. These initiatives highlight their commitment to a shared digital future.

The forum in Astana runs from 2nd to 4th October and attracts over 67,000 participants. It features more than 1,000 speakers from over 100 countries and includes over 500 startups and investors. Topics cover AI, blockchain, healthtech, edutech, IoT, AR/VR, agritech, cybersecurity, e-commerce, space tech, among others.

Al Olama praised the strategic partnership between the UAE and Kazakhstan. He highlighted their shared vision of investing in talent development and fostering partnerships in AI initiatives. This collaboration supports scientific research and accelerates digital adoption across various sectors.

In his speech at the forum, Al Olama stated that artificial intelligence is crucial for transforming governance models. It enhances efficiency in both government and private sectors while positively impacting societal well-being. The UAE's national AI strategy positions it as a global hub for future technologies.
