The Ministry of Finance has introduced a programme to inform Emirati professionals and students about roles in international financial organisations. The "UAE Global Cadres" initiative aims to inspire Emiratis in the UAE and those studying locally or abroad to explore training, secondment, and career opportunities with these global institutions.
H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Finance, highlighted that the initiative aligns with the UAE's strategic vision. It aims to empower national talent and enhance their influence in global decision-making processes.

Sheikh Maktoum emphasised that this initiative is a long-term investment in empowering Emiratis to contribute to international financial institutions. He stated: "This initiative is more than just an opportunity to raise awareness among national talent; it is a long-term investment in empowering Emiratis to contribute to international financial institutions and offer innovative perspectives that showcase the UAE’s excellence across various financial and economic domains."
The initiative is part of the UAE's strategic partnerships with international financial bodies. It reflects the ministry's dedication to nurturing national talent and enhancing the country's global presence in line with leadership's long-term goals.
Sheikh Maktoum further noted that the programme serves as a strategic bridge for collaboration with international financial entities. He said: "We view this initiative as a strategic bridge to reinforce collaboration with international financial bodies, while also enhancing our ability to shape global economic policy and consolidating the UAE’s position as a trusted and dynamic global financial hub."
Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, affirmed that "UAE Global Cadres" will accelerate efforts to develop future Emirati leaders for roles in international finance. He mentioned that this initiative not only enhances the Ministry's reputation but also strengthens its role as a leading federal entity advancing the UAE government's strategic vision.
Workshops and Networking Opportunities
The programme will host educational workshops and interactive sessions. These activities aim to empower Emirati participants by helping them build professional networks internationally, supporting their career growth, and contributing positively to key sectors within the UAE.
Al Hussaini added that participants will receive high-level training at these organisations, gaining advanced skills, practical experience, and exposure to best practices worldwide. This preparation will enable them to assume leadership roles within these organisations.
Global Partnerships
The "UAE Global Cadres" initiative will be implemented alongside leading international financial institutions. The UAE is affiliated with several such organisations including the World Bank Group, International Finance Corporation, International Fund for Agricultural Development, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, New Development Bank, Arab Monetary Fund, and OPEC Fund for International Development.
